Michigan Wolverines football is into the second week of July with the No. 11 class in the 2025 On3 Industry National Team Recruiting Rankings following the verbal commitments of a pair of top-100 players in four-star Winter Garden (Fla.) defensive back Ivan Taylor and four-star Southern Valley (Pa.) tight end Andrew Olesh.

The Wolverines entered Monday with the No. 17 class in the nation but vaulted up the rankings after adding their 14th and 15th commitments of the cycle, respectively.

Taylor is the No. 58 player in the country and the sixth-ranked safety, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

“I had a good time with all the coaches,” Taylor, who visited for Victors Weekend, said. “Coach (LaMar) Morgan, Coach Wink (Martindale) and Coach (Sherrone) Moore all seemed like good, genuine people. Coach Moore has a good staff around him. Nobody has anything bad to say about Coach Moore because he’s a good guy and wants what’s best for the team.”

Olesh, the nation’s No. 93 player and third-ranked tight end, said that the current staff has compared him to a current star on the Michigan roster.

“They said I could be the next Colston Loveland,” Olesh said. “Obviously, he’s a big-time dude and will probably be a first round draft pick. They compared me to him and told me I could fit into their offense well. They threw the ball a lot during the spring game. I think they said the tight ends got the ball 14 times, which is by far the most I’ve seen from any spring game. They also mentioned that they (offensive coaches) had opportunities to leave Michigan, but they chose to stay because they love Michigan. It’s a stable staff, so that’s great to hear.”

Michigan 2025 Recruiting Class

Following Monday’s commitments from Taylor and Olesh, the overall 2025 recruiting ranking for Michigan (90.61) sits higher than Miami (FL), Auburn, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Penn State, USC, Rutgers and Kentucky.
