Newsstand: Former Michigan QB Cade McNamara finds new school
Former Michigan Wolverines football quarterback Cade McNamara has found his new school, announcing Saturday that he has transferred to East Tennessee State for his seventh year of collegiate eligibility. He will have one season remaining.
McNamara spent the last two years at Iowa after transferring in December 2022. Prior to that, he was the starting quarterback at Michigan in 2021 during its 12-2 Big Ten title season and first trip to the College Football Playoff. He lost the job to J.J. McCarthy early in the 2022 season, then was injured as the team’s No. 2 quarterback.
Over his collegiate career, McNamara has played in 34 games (29 starts), with a 22–7 record. He has completed 417-of-685 passes (60.9%) for 4,703 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.

Michigan quote of the day
“Michigan beat Ohio State this season for the fourth-consecutive year, owning the rivalry at this moment in time. So many Buckeyes said they came back for another year to ‘beat that team up north’ and win it all. Since the Wolverines won 13-10 in Columbus Nov. 30, it’s impossible for Ohio State to achieve both of those goals. And depending on who you ask in Columbus, beating Michigan is the No. 1 goal, even if fans not familiar with the rivalry can’t believe it.”
