Newsstand: Former USC QB Miller Moss will consider Michigan

The Michigan Wolverines could be in the market for transfer portal help at quarterback this offseason, and former USC quarterback Miller Moss might be a fit. Not only that, he appears to be considering U-M now that’s is officially on the market.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Michigan is among the suitors for Moss’ services along with Iowa, Louisville and Auburn also in the mix.
“The USC quarterback transfer will have plenty of options, but the key to Miller Moss’ success in college football is finding a landing spot that gives him space to develop and start,” Nakos wrote. “He’s expected to look at Michgan, Auburn and Iowa. He’s not expected to be the Tigers’ top choice. Sources also tell On3 that Louisville will be in the mix to land Moss, who was benched for backup quarterback Jayden Maiava late in the season. Moss will be an attractive name to programs hoping to find a plug-and-play type quarterback.”
Moss took over at USC to end the 2023 season in a 42-28 Holiday Bowl win over Louisville after Caleb Williams opted out to prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft. It was a bit of a star-making turn for the Trojan signal-caller, throwing for 372 yards with 6 touchdowns and an interception while completing 22 of his 33 pass attempts.

The big day sent him into the offseason as the man to beat for the starting job for head coach Lincoln Riley, and he played fairly well throughout the year despite a 6-6 season. Moss started the first 9 games of the year for the Trojans, throwing for 2,555 yards with 18 touchdowns and 9 interceptions while completing 64.4 of his passes before being benched for sophomore Jayden Maiava in the final 3 games.

Michigan quote of the day
“What an inspiring performance by that group to go on the road in that situation against a team that’s stacked with talent. And obviously, they’ve played at a very high level this year. And for us to go in and be consumed with winning and doing it together like they did, it was an inspiring performance by our football team.”
