Newsstand: Michigan closes out LA road trip Tuesday at UCLA
The Michigan Wolverines continue the 2024-25 basketball season on Tuesday night with a trip to Pauley Pavilion to take on UCLA, a new addition to the Big Ten and one of the best matchups of the night across the nation.
Michigan is 11-3 on the season and 3-0 in Big Ten play. Its most recent victory came against USC on Saturday in Los Angeles, the first of its two-game slate out west to start the new year. So far in conference action, it has victories over Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Trojans. KenPom projects a 71-68 loss on the road for the Wolverines with a 42% projected chance of victory.
UCLA also is 11-3 on the season, but sits at 2-1 in the Big Ten with wins over Washington and Oregon and a loss to Nebraska on the road over the weekend. It will be looking to get back in the win column and establish itself as a Big Ten threat in its first season in the conference.

Michigan quote of the day
“To microanalyze in the moment, it would be the same thing. I was thinking about this earlier with Bryce Underwood. They’re pursuing him and everyone said to stop talking about this because they’re not going to get him and whatever, but then they got him. So it’s like, at the time you could say that all you want because no one could prove that you were wrong and that they weren’t going to get him. But then they did.
“So they clearly had a plan. They didn’t know for sure they were going to, but. It ends up in their favor. So let’s see how it plays out with the wide receiver spot.”
