The Michigan Wolverines have won four games in a row over the Ohio State Buckeyes, which lingers as one of the biggest storylines heading into the 2025 campaign.

It’s one that On3’s Ari Wasserman will be tracking closely heading into the new season. Even with Ryan Day’s victory laps around the country, his struggles against Michigan loom like a dark cloud.

“Ryan Day has been making the media tour for the past month as he celebrates Ohio State’s run to the national championship. You can make the case that was one of the most impressive paths to a national title in the history of the game. And for a coach who had been through hell before embarking on that redemption tour, you can understand why he’s going on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon. He deserves to celebrate. But there is one lingering issue back home in Columbus: Michigan. The Buckeyes have lost four in a row to their most hated rival. Ohio State loses a large portion of its roster, Michigan is presumably much better and the game is in Ann Arbor next year. Day, obviously, is nowhere near the hot seat, but the most bitter rivalry in college football will never not be something I’m not looking forward to during the offseason. Will Ohio State finally reverse its fortunes in that game in 2025?”

Michigan goes for five in a row on Nov. 29 in Ann Arbor.

Michigan quote of the day

“Michigan has won 23 NCAA Tournament games since 2013, and that’s with missing the tournament three times. Following the 2022 campaign, that was tied as the second-most among any program nationally during that stretch, behind only Gonzaga (24). Duke (22), Villanova (22) and Kentucky (18) were close behind. That figure is by far the most among any Big Ten team in that span, ahead of MSU (19), Wisconsin (15) and Purdue (14). Michigan is one of five teams — joined by Connecticut, Gonzaga, North Carolina and Villanova — to appear in multiple national title games since 2013.”
