The Michigan Wolverines are in a dominant stretch over their rival Ohio State Buckeyes on the football field, winners of three-straight games in the rivalry, three consecutive Big Ten Championships and three trips to the College Football Playoff capped off by a national title win in January.

Ohio State’s winless streak on the football field dates back to 2019 given the two teams did not play during the COVID-impacted season in 2020, so the Buckeyes have forgotten what success feels like in the rivalry. During one of the biggest sports entertainment events of the year, one fan made sure he sent a reminder out to the world.

On the side of Wrestlemania, held this year at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylania, one fan sitting ringside brought a sign with him that read, “1589 Days Since OSU Beat Michigan.”

There are still 237 days before Ohio State has a chance to get back in the win column in the rivalry, which would push the number to 1,827 days without a win in The Game. We will see this year of Michigan is able to extend that streak, but each day that passes in Columbus is more angst-filled than the next.

Michigan quote of the day

“I’ll start with the Giants, the potential for interest in JJ McCarthy, I think, it’s very real. You know, I don’t necessarily put stock into everything that owners say publicly or GMs or head coaches, (what they) say publicly. But the Giants have not shied away from the fact that despite their statements that Daniel Jones was their starter … when he’s healthy, they left the door open. I mean … the team owner says that he’s basically authorized his GM and head coach to take a quarterback if they feel like that is the best position for them in the first round. That to me says the green light is there if an opportunity knocks.”
