Newsstand: Michigan in top-10 of post-portal rankings

The Michigan Wolverines have been in the middle of a roster overhaul heading into the second season under head coach Dusty May, which has received plenty of hype from a stellar 2024-25 season.
Michigan completely reversed the program’s outlook, going from 8-24 in 2023-24 to a team that went 27-10 this past season with a Big Ten Tournament championship and trip to the Sweet Sixteen in Atlanta, where it eventually lost to top-overall seed Auburn.
May and company have reworked the roster, headlined by the commitment of No. 1 overall portal prospect Yaxel Lendeborg, who is still deciding whether to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.

On3’s James Fletcher has Michigan at No. 8 after the portal closed, pending the decision of Lendeborg, who visited Ann Arbor this weekend.
Here’s what Fletcher had to say about the Wolverines:
Key returns: Nimari Burnett, Roddy Gayle, Will Tschetter
Key additions: Elliot Cadeau*, Morez Johnson*, Yaxel Lendeborg*, Aday Mara*, Trey McKenney
Key departures: Tre Donaldson, Vlad Goldin, Sam Walters, Danny Wolf
Michigan took another step forward while building its roster, adding more frontcourt depth to one of the best projected groups in the country. Dusty May has a great combination of returning talent and incoming players ready to repeat the success of Year One in a new way.

Michigan quote of the day
“Everyone gives me credit for ranking Graham as high as I did. But truth be told, that credit should go to Courtney Morgan. It seems like yesterday I was in a Chicago Jewel-Osco parking lot talking to Morgan about Graham. He guaranteed this unheralded Boise State commit was a future first round draft pick. I kind of chuckled at him before watching the tape and eventually going out to California to see him live. By the end of the cycle, I had Graham ranked as a Top 100 prospect. And that was still too low. Graham obviously became the best defensive lineman in college football and a Top 5 pick.”
