Newsstand: Michigan makes top five for Big Ten transfer

The Michigan Wolverines have made the top five schools for Indiana transfer power forward Malik Reneau. Reneau will choose between Arkansas, Auburn, Miami, Michigan and USC as his next school out of the NCAA transfer portal.
He is the No. 14 overall player in the transfer portal, according to the On3 rankings.
Reneau averaged 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for an IU team that just missed the NCAA Tournament and parted ways with coach Mike Woodson. The former four-star recruit was the No. 25 overall player in the country in the 2022 class and some believe he could stay closer to home, but the Wolverines find themselves squarely in the mix.
Of course, the Wolverines have made an addition in the portal thus far with former North Carolina point guard Elliot Cadeau. Three Michigan players have entered the portal to this point in Justin Pippen, Sam Walters and Jace Howard. U-M will have a chance to add to its roster over the next several weeks with the transfer portal open through April 22.

Michigan quote of the day
”[Defensive line coach Lou Esposito] does a great job of getting those guys ready,” Newsome said. “It makes us better every single day. I truly feel like we may face other good defensive linemen every single year. Maybe we face one or two guys a game who are at the level of our guys. But I don’t feel like we’re gonna face a line that is better than our guys. I don’t think we’re gonna see a better edge than Moore or Guy.”
