Michigan has added Jonathon Carter to its growing recruiting department, while former recruiting analyst Jacob Weber is no longer with the program.
Carter will serve as a recruiting analyst for the Wolverines and is now officially in the U-M directory.
Over the last few weeks, Michigan has hired Carter, former Kansas staffer Daniel Litke and former Alabama student assistant Avery Bean.
Carter most recently spent time at Eastern Michigan, where he served as a recruiting and operations assistant. Prior to that, Carter was an intern at the Legacy Center Sports Complex in Brighton.
Carter played football at Northwood University and graduated in 2023 with a degree in sports management.
On the flip side of the coin, Weber was hired last offseason and focused on helping Lou Esposito recruit along the defensive line. Weber was a recruiting intern at Indiana before serving as a recruiting assistant at Western Michigan for a year and a half.
Weber left Michigan to take over as an assistant coach at Northridge High School in Indiana.
Michigan has made plenty of recent changes to its recruiting department over the last year. The Wolverines reassigned Albert Karschnia and promoted Sam Popper to Director of Recruiting. U-M also brought on John Collins and Jack Dunaway as Assistant Directors of Recruiting. Every on-field assistant coach was assigned a recruiting staffer to help with position recruiting.
Michigan finished with 24 signees in its 2025 recruiting class, which ranked No. 6 nationally, per the On3 Industry team rankings. The class is ranked No. 3 in the Big Ten.
