Michigan has lost another member of its recruiting department staff.

Preston Sagan is no longer with the program after 11 months in Ann Arbor as a recruiting analyst. Sagan is leaving Michigan to take over as the Customer Experience Coordinator at Tracking Football.

During his time at Michigan, Sagan worked closely with Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford and was involved in the recruitments of top targets like Savion Hiter and Javian Osborne. Sagan was especially present with recruits on visits.

Sagan is the fourth recruiting staffer to leave Michigan this offseason. He joins Coleman Walker, who is now the Director of Player Personnel for Washington State, Cam Hughes, who is now the Assistant Director of Player Personnel at Jacksonville State, and Jacob Weber, who is now a high school coach in Indiana.

Michigan also lost its Associate Director of On-Campus Recruiting, Joshua Bailey, who recently left to take over as Director of Recruiting for Georgia State.

Michigan has made plenty of recent changes to its recruiting department over the last year and a half. The Wolverines reassigned Albert Karschnia and promoted Sam Popper to Director of Recruiting. U-M also brought on John Collins and Jack Dunaway as Assistant Directors of Recruiting. Every on-field assistant coach was assigned a recruiting staffer to help with position recruiting.

Sherrone Moore has shown a commitment to modernizing and expanding his staff during his tenure as head coach. That will not change moving forward.

A look at position recruiting staffers

Josh Meyer (QBs) — Meyer was a student intern who spent almost three years working in the Michigan recruiting department before being promoted.

Richard Perry (WRs) — Perry was a recruiting intern at Michigan State prior to becoming a recruiting intern at Michigan and eventually an analyst.

Aidan Young (TEs) — Young worked as a recruiting intern at Oregon for two years before becoming an analyst at U-M last offseason.

Reid Kuhl (OL) — Kuhl was a general recruiting intern at Michigan before being promoted to head offensive intern and now analyst.

Daniel Litke (DL) — Litke joined Michigan’s staff this offseason after spending time in the scouting department at Kansas.

Avery Bean (LB) — Bean was hired this offseason after spending two years as a student recruiting analyst at Alabama.

Jack Turner (S/STs) — Turner was a recruiting intern at Wake Forest and also served as the Assistant Director of Football Operations at Davidson. He joined the U-M staff last offseason.

Adam Jones — Jones was just added to the Michigan staff last week. It is unclear which position group he will assist with. Jones is the son of Arkansas State head coach Butch Jones.
