On3 released its new On300 rankings for the 2027 recruiting class. Here are five prospects Michigan leads for, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

WR Dakota Guerrant, Harper Woods (Mich.) High (No. 21)

The in-state class is absolutely loaded next cycle. Guerrant may be the best of the bunch and checked in as the No. 3 wide receiver and now 21 overall recruit nationally. Guerrant visited Michigan earlier this month and is set to be back on campus next week. Guerrant is related to Michigan freshman defensive back Jacob Oden and plays for his father, ex-Wolverine fullback Rod Oden, at Harper Woods. Michigan has the heavy lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with an 80.4 percent chance of landing him.

EDGE Recarder Kitchen, Muskegon (Mich.) High (No. 56)

Kitchen is yet another elite in-state target for next cycle. The highly touted pass rusher is ranked as the No. 5 EDGE and No. 56 overall prospect nationally. Michigan hosted him for a visit in the fall and is looking to get him back on campus for a spring practice in a few weeks. Like with Guerrant, it’s imperative for Sherrone Moore and company to keep him home next cycle. Michigan has the heavy lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 98.4 percent chance of landing him.

QB Trae Taylor, Mundelein (Ill.) Carmel Catholic (No. 86)

Taylor has visited Michigan more than any other school, which is why the Wolverines have the lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 35.7 percent chance of landing him. However, Taylor, who is ranked as the No. 6 quarterback and No. 86 overall prospect nationally, is set to make a decision this summer and may very well end up elsewhere. Illinois, Nebraska and multiple SEC schools are also involved in this recruitment. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine may be deceiving here.

QB Keegan Croucher, Cheshire (Conn.) Academy (No. 107)

New Michigan offensive coordinator is casting a wide net with 2027 quarterbacks, but it’s clear Croucher is an early priority for the Wolverines. Croucher made his third visit to Michigan earlier this month and now has a 60.3 percent chance of landing him. Croucher, who is ranked as the No. 8 quarterback and No. 107 overall recruit nationally, also holds offers from Indiana, Michigan State, Ole Miss and others, but Michigan appears to have the inside track for the New England signal-caller.

TE Zac Fares, Las Vegas (Nev.) Arbor View (No. 128)

Michigan tight ends coach Steve Casula spent extended time in the western US during the winter contact period and is making Fares an early priority. Ranked as the No. 6 tight end and No. 128 overall prospect nationally, Fares made his first visit to Michigan last June and is now set to return to Ann Arbor for a spring practice next weekend. Michigan has the lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 59.8 percent chance of landing him. Arizona State, USC, Washington and others are also involved.
