On3 RPM: Michigan trending for several BBQ at The Big House visitors
Michigan is expected to host over 20 prospects in the 2025 class this upcoming weekend for the annual BBQ at The Big House. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Wolverines are leading for 13 targets, including three listed in the On300 Rankings.
The Wolverine takes a look at where Michigan stands with each recruit.
Five-star QB Bryce Underwood, Belleville (Mich.) High
RPM: U-M (35.1%), Michigan State (19.3%), Ohio State (10.1%), LSU (8.4%)
The Skinny: Bryce Underwood‘s expected return for the barbecue on Sunday will mark the fifth time in which he’s been to Michigan this offseason. He was last on campus to take part in a local 7v7 event put on by the Wolverines and also did a personalized tour in April. Quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell has made outstanding efforts to establish weekly contact with the family of Underwood. The nation’s No. 1 overall player in the country visited LSU on Friday.
On300 IOL Avery Gach, Birmingham (Mich.) Groves
RPM: U-M (25.5%), Michigan State (22.3%), Ohio State (14.5%), Notre Dame (8.2%)
The Skinny: Avery Gach is compiling a monstrous offer sheet with multiple SEC schools and the Big Ten elites pulling the trigger on the Metro Detroit mauler. Michigan issued an offer to Gach in mid-October during the Penn State game. On3’s No. 2 overall in-state recruit later visited twice, including for spring camp practice in March. At 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, Gach and his family like what offensive line coach Sherrone Moore brings to the table and off the field resources presented at the school.
On300 WR Kaliq Lockett, Sachse (Tex.) High
RPM: U-M (40.9%), SMU (18.7%), Texas Tech (16.1%), Arizona State (13.4%)
The Skinny: Kaliq Lockett was offered by wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy during the spring evaluation period. The barbecue will be the second time the No. 22 wideout nationally has visited Ann Arbor. His first appearance happened at one of U-M’s June camps, where he was hands-on with Bellamy in drills and instruction. The Wolverines trail only Texas to host Lockett the most but the Longhorns have yet to offer.
On300 OT Carter Lowe, Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer
RPM: U-M (54.3%), Ohio State (27.4%), Michigan State (6.3%), Penn State (5.3%)
The Skinny: Carter Lowe‘s recruitment is becoming an old fashion Michigan-Ohio State battle. Not just because the 6-foot-5, 285-pounder is native to a city directly in the middle of both campuses, but he’s also a priority for both rivals. After visiting for the Maryland game last season, Lowe, the No. 8 overall prospect in Ohio, went back to U-M twice in the spring and then for the Big Man Camp on June 7. Meetings with Moore and getting to know the two-time defending Joe Moore Award winner have greatly impacted Lowe and his family’s interest.
Four-star TE Xavier Newsom, Detroit (Mich.) King
RPM: U-M (86.1%), Toledo (1.8%), Central Michigan (1.6%), Pitt (1.3%)
The Skinny: Xavier Newsom is listed as a tight end by On3 but Michigan is also eyeing the No. 3 ranked in-stater as a pass rusher. Newsom is a physical specimen on the hoof at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds. He possesses excellent length and well-defined muscle in the upper half. Newsom will have visited Ann Arbor four times this offseason when including the barbecue. His first appearance took place at a Junior Day event in January. Co-defensive coordinator and area recruiter Steve Clinkscale is leading the way for Newsom.
Three-star WR Elijah Dotson, University of Detroit (Mich.) Jesuit
RPM: U-M (97.9%), Penn State (1.5%)
The Skinny: Elijah Dotson will be making his second visit to Michigan this weekend after going up to campus back in April. Clinkscale put an offer out the following month and is looking at Dotson hard as a secondary target. Their relationship continues to grow this offseason with Dotson saying he fully trusts Clinkscale. There are no On3 predictions made in favor of the Wolverines to land Dotson but there’s heavy momentum heading into the barbecue with the RPM nearing 98 percent.
Three-star LB Justin Rowe, Asheville (N.C.) High
RPM: U-M (72.7%), Appalachian State (3.0%), Charlotte (2.6%), Virginia Tech (2.2%)
The Skinny: Michigan linebackers coach Chris Partridge offered Justin Rowe after checking out the latter at a workout during the spring evaluation period. Originally from Ottawa in the Canadian providence of Ontario, Lowe moved to the United States to play American football and earned all his double-digit offers this offseason. The state of North Carolina has been good for the Wolverines in the 2024 recruiting cycle so Rowe’s attendance for the barbecue could be the start of things to come. He’s the No. 31 ranked linebacker in the country by On3.

Three-star RB Justin Baker, Buford (Ga.) High
RPM: U-M (87.7%), Georgia (3.9%), South Carolina (3.3%), Penn State (1.9%)
The Skinny: An On3 prediction was published in June for Justin Baker to commit to Michigan after he visited for the first time alongside 2025 linebacker commit and teammate Mantrez Walker. Running backs coach Mike Hart did a great job of presenting the development of Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards to Baker while also guiding the 5-foot-9, 200-pounder around the facilities. Walker has been assisting a ton of pitching the idea to Baker for them to remain close at the next level.
WR Messiah Delhomme, Newport News (Va.) Warwick
RPM: U-M (72.7%), East Carolina (5.8%), Virginia (5.0%), Liberty (4.1%)
The Skinny: Messiah Delhomme‘s versatility on either side of the ball is being evaluated by Michigan as safeties coach Jay Harbaugh offered the 6-foot-0, 189-pounder on June 22. Delhomme has been researching Michigan’s academic opportunities and looks forward to being around the younger Harbaugh in person.
CB Jahmari DeLoatch, Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith
RPM: U-M (79.3%), Old Dominion (6.3%), Duke (5.4%), Liberty (4.5%)
The Skinny: Michigan is the first Big Ten school and first non-ACC Power 5 school to offer Jahmari DeLoatch, listed as the No. 9 prospect in the state of Virginia and No. 36 cornerback in the country. His offer from the Wolverines arrived on May 9.
WR Quinn Morris, Bolingbrook (Ill.) Plainfield East
RPM: U-M (86.4%), Minnesota (13.6%)
The Skinny: Quinn Morris is the younger brother of Michigan wide receiver Tyler Morris. Watching nearly every home game last season because of the connection, the incoming junior’s knowledge of the program is vast. He also checked out the April spring game. Ball State and Minnesota have also offered Morris but the Wolverines’ commanding lead on the RPM reflects his high intrigue.
DL Bobby Kanka, Howell (Mich.) High
RPM: U-M (99.1%), Penn State (.1%)
The Skinny: Bobby Kanka has been a frequent flyer to Michigan since he was formally offered in March of last year. Residing less than 30 minutes from Ann Arbor, Kanka’s recent returns have allowed him to get an in-depth look at U-M’s scheme up front. Defensive line coach Mike Elston is making Kanka a top target in the 2025 cycle and the family-first approach from the former is impressing the 6-foot-4, 263-pounder.
EDGE Willie Fletcher, Detroit (Mich.) King
RPM: U-M (83.8%), Central Michigan (2.4%), Ball State (2.0%), Pitt (1.7%)
The Skinny: Willie Fletcher has quietly visited Michigan regularly this offseason after the team entered the mix back in May of 2022. Coming up this past January and again in June, Fletcher is building in-roads with Clinkscale, whose mentor role is appealing to the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder. Remaining in-state is a preferred route for Fletcher’s family.
