The Michigan Wolverines are in the Sweet Sixteen of the 2025 NCAA Tournament and will take on top-seeded Auburn on Friday in Atlanta. The run so far included a pair of wins over UC San Diego and Texas A&M in Denver, and could just be getting underway.

TheWolverine.com’s Anthony Broome, Chris Balas and Clayton Sayfie discuss Michigan’s march to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament, along with Justin Pippen’s transfer, a quick preview of the Sweet Sixteen, Sherrone Moore speaks and more!

“ That was not a 12-seed guys,” Balas said on the show. “That was a good basketball team. They didn’t look the part. When we saw them, even writers in San Diego said that physically Michigan should take care of this team. At the same time when they spread them out, they had guys that were making shots like crazy to keep them in it and some really nice drives and finishes.

“That was a very good win. I don’t give a damn what anybody says. And then to come back with a team with a completely different style in Texas A&M and you have the one day prep, you could tell that they were prepared. Clay and I were behind the bench and we were listening to them calling out counters for everything that Texas A&M had. You could tell that they had been scouting them for a while. They were basically telling guys where to go defensively, offensively, and you always get the sense that if it’s a close game down the stretch, Michigan’s gonna find a way because they’ve done it all year. It is not luck. This is a group of guys that save their best for the last.

“When it comes down to it, when you win games like that down the stretch, that is mental toughness.”
