Podcast: Michigan marches onto the Sweet Sixteen, another milestone for Dusty May

The Michigan Wolverines are moving on in the 2025 NCAA Tournament after a 91-79 win over Texas A&M in Denver, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen next weekend in Atlanta to take on the top-seeded Auburn Tigers.
TheWolverine.com’s Anthony Broome discussed the victory moments after it went final and reacted to a 2-0 weekend that included wins over the Aggies and UC San Diego en route to the next round:
“The win the other night was season-affirming. This win was coach-affirming and it’s all gravy from here. know what the stats are. You gotta be top 25 on KenPom and offense and defense to win a national title, compete for the national title, whatever it is. They’re not there yet. But then again, putting up 91 points against one of the best defensive teams in the country is gonna do a hell of a lot for your profile as well. I think everything from here is gravy.
“From here you wanna win the games and you wanna go as far on this ride as you can possibly go. You’re staring at right now the possibility of if you’re fortunate enough to advance in the Sweet 16, you could be playing Michigan State for a right to go to the Final Four. That would break this state. That would break both fan bases. It would be awesome. I’m so here for that. If they’re fortunate enough to get to that spot, we’ll see what happens.
“But man, you’ve won a weekend. Now you’ve won two games. This game is gonna show a 12-point win, but that was a dogfight from start to finish. This time of year, you gotta win rock fights. You gotta win games where you’re filling it up from the floor. You gotta win games where you make your free throws. The more you advance throughout this tournament, the more that that’s gonna hurt you. And to their credit in the second half, they checked both of those boxes and made some incredibly tough shots.
“You guys have got a program and you have a basketball coach. And more than anything else, you’ve got a chance. You’ve got a chance to stay alive. If you can get to that second weekend, that’s when anything can happen.”
