Podcast: What's next for Michigan's roster after Aday Mara?

The Michigan Wolverines kept adding to the roster over the weekend with the addition of former UCLA center Aday Mara to the program, giving them another 7-footer inside to protect the rim for next year’s squad.
TheWolverine.com’s Anthony Broome, Chris Balas and Clayton Sayfie discuss the addition of Aday Mara to Michigan basketball and how the roster is coming together. Also discussed are the transfer portal for hoops and football and your questions.
”This guy was really a big reason for UCLA’s resurgence,” Balas said. “I love having a guy 7-2, 7-3 at the rim to adjust shots. He’s not the most athletic guy in the world, but you don’t need to be at that size. Remember, Jon Teske was an eraser around the rim at times, too. It makes it hard to finish over somebody with that size at the rim.
“[Michigan is competitive] and people wanna play for Dusty May. So I’m not saying money doesn’t have anything to do with it, fellas, but people wanna play for Dusty may. They love his style of basketball. It’s been pretty exciting to see this class come together just like last year’s did.”

Sayfie replied: “I think a lot of guys wanna play for Dusty May, but if you’re a big man that’s an international player, Dusty May’s had a lot of success with those guys. Vlad Goldin is the most recent example in two different stops. Vlad was arguably better last year in the Big Ten than he was in the American the year before or Conference USA the year before that.

“It translates. He continued to get better. “Mara is not a finished product by any stretch, but he’s got a lot of tools… He’s got a lot of development to go, but he’s a good player.”
