Portal offensive lineman LaDarius Henderson commits to Michigan
And just like that, Michigan has added more outstanding talent to its 2023 team. Arizona State offensive lineman LaDarius Henderson entered the portal only days ago, but he’s already committed to U-M.
From today’s ITF EXTRA:
LaDarius Henderson, Arizona State: This one bears watching (closely). The 6-5, 310-pound Texan emerged as one of the better linemen in the Pac-12, capable of playing a number of positions on the line. He’d likely compete at tackle for Michigan.
Henderson started 29 games over the last three years and was one of ASU’s team captains this season. He missed the last six games, though, after suffering a broken bone in his hand against Washington in October.
Henderson accepted an invite the East-West Shrine game and seemed ready to test NFL Draft waters. He reportedly also said he wanted to keep his options open and wouldn’t rule out coming back to college … and he likely will. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Per reports, Henderson saw action in 13 games and played 823 snaps. He gave up only 8 QB hurries, one QB hit, and one sack while playing at left guard.

From what we’ve gathered, Michigan likes him to compete at left tackle with Jeffrey Persi.
“Henderson is one of the most exciting 2023 NFL Draft iOL prospects on tape, and he also has one of the most intriguing backgrounds in the class. Despite being a senior, Henderson will be just 21 years old through most of his rookie season, if he declares.
“With Henderson, there’s a unique mix of youth, experience, and also inexperience — oddly enough. Henderson didn’t even start playing football until his junior year of high school. As a senior, he quickly morphed into a lockdown offensive tackle, allowing just one sack in his final season. A late start amounted to a mere three-star billing as a recruit, but Henderson still generated interest from Power Five schools — one of them being Arizona State.
“Henderson committed to the Sun Devils in June of 2018 and signed his letter of intent later that year. At Arizona State, he wasted no time making an impact. As a true freshman, despite being in just his third year of football overall, Henderson started nine games at left tackle. He then swapped between tackle and guard in 2020 before starting all 13 games at left guard in 2021.”
