Michigan Wolverines football and Iowa are warming up ahead of the Big Ten championship game Saturday night in Indianapolis. Follow along below for pregame observations from Lucas Oil Stadium.

Pregame observations: Michigan vs. Iowa

• 8:13 p.m. — Michigan has taken the field and is ready for kickoff. Zinter went out for the coin toss.

• 8:08 p.m. — Michigan captain Zak Zinter is injured and out for the season but is expected to come out for the coin toss.

• 7:45 p.m. – We’d estimate that Michigan has a significant edge in terms of fans in attendance, maybe 70/30.

• 7:25 p.m. — Drake Nugent is listed as questionable, but he’s snapping to J.J. McCarthy in warmups.

• 7:23 p.m. — Alabama has beaten Georgia in the SEC championship game, meaning that Michigan has a strong chance of earning the No. 1 College Football Playoff seed with a win over Iowa.

• 7:22 p.m. — Most Michigan players, all but the offensive line, are now out on the field for warmups.

• 7:18 p.m. — Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is back from his suspension and helping quarterback J.J. McCarthy warm up pregame.

• 6:53 p.m. — Michigan special teamers have taken the field in full uniform, white jerseys with white pants.

• 6 p.m. — Michigan has released its availability report ahead of the game. Guard Zak Zinter and linebacker Jimmy Rolder are out, while cornerback Will Johnson and center Drake Nugent are listed as questionable.

Series Facts: This is Michigan’s third consecutive appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game. The Wolverines defeated Iowa 42-3 in 2021 and beat Purdue 43-22 a year ago. U-M is looking to capture its league-leading 45th Big Ten Championship and third in as many seasons. This will be the 64th meeting between Michigan and Iowa. U-M holds a 44-15-4 lead in the all-time series and has won 15- of the last 23 games against the Hawkeyes. In the last meeting between the teams, Michigan won 27-14 in Iowa City on Oct. 1, 2022.
