Pregame observations, updates: Michigan vs. MSU

• 7:29 p.m. — Michigan has taken the field.

• 7:07 p.m. — Michigan has headed into the locker room for the final time before kickoff.

• 7:05 p.m. — Sophomore Tyler Morris took the final punt return of warmups, usually an indication that he will take the first rep there in the game. Jake Thaw has been the first punt returner in each of Michigan’s games this season, but Morris has rotated in.

• 6:44 p.m. — Sophomore tight end Marlin Klein was listed as questionable but he looks good to go, moving around well in warmups. He has an undisclosed injury. He was also working with the punters earlier. He’s been the Wolverines’ emergency punter for road games this season, behind junior Tommy Doman.

• 6:43 p.m. — Michigan traveled four quarterbacks, but junior Davis Warren is not one of them. He made trips to the other two road games this season, at Nebraska and Minnesota. Sophomore Alex Orji is one of the four, after not traveling in those two other road tilts.

• 6:32 p.m. — Some of the Michigan players just ran on the field (quarterbacks and running backs) and got a nice ovation from the Wolverine fans in attendance. Good amount so far. We have observed over the years that away fans show up earlier, typically. MSU student section about half full at this point and doing some sort of chant.
