Live updates: Michigan vs. Indiana

• Final: Michigan 52, Indiana 7

• 4Q, 0:06 — Indiana turns it over on downs, Michigan runs the clock out and the Wolverines win 52-7. Michigan has won seven straight games by 24 or more points for the first time since 1976.

• 4Q, 6:03 — Michigan goes for it on 4th and goal from the 4-yard line. Jack Tuttle finds Karmello English in the back of the end zone for the freshman wide receiver’s first career touchdown. The Wolverines lead 52-7.

• 4Q, 11:46 — Tayven Jackson throws a balloon up field and it’s picked off by Keon Sabb. That’s his second pick in as many weeks. Michigan has the ball on the Indiana 36-yard line.

• 4Q, 12:02 — Donovan Edwards scores his first touchdown of the season, from 2 yards out on 3rd and goal. Michigan now leads 45-7 after the 8-play, 51-yard drive.

• End of third quarter: Michigan 38, Indiana 7. The Wolverines face 3rd and 1 to begin the fourth quarter. They got the ball back after Mason Graham recovered a Jaylen Harrell-forced fumble on fourth down.

• 3Q, 5:18 — Michigan settles for a field goal after recovering the fumble. On second down, Karsen Barnhart got beat in pass protection and his man forced a fumble, which the Wolverines recovered. Michigan then failed to convert on third down. The Wolverines now possess a 38-7 edge.

• 3Q, 7:39 — Michigan linebacker Michael Barrett got a strip sack and recovered the fumble himself at the Indiana 15-yard line. The Wolverines are in position to score again.

• 3Q, 8:28 — Michigan throws a screen pass to freshman wideout Semaj Morgan, who makes a series of moves and scores a 7-yard touchdown. The Wolverines lead 35-7.

• 3Q, 10:46 — Michigan’s defense comes up with a third-down stop. All sorts of pressure, and Jaylen Harrell finishes off the sack. The Hoosiers punt and Michigan takes over on its own 48-yard line.

• 3Q, 12:22 — Facing 3rd and 10, Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy scrambles out to his right, directs traffic and finds Colston Loveland, who split off his route and went deep. Loveland scored a 54-yard touchdown. The Wolverines have put up 28 unanswered points and lead 28-7.

• Halftime: Michigan 21, Indiana 7

• 2Q, 0:11 — Blake Corum punches in a 1-yard touchdown run on 2nd and goal after Michigan calls timeout. The Wolverines have a 21-7 lead before halftime. This play set it up.

• 2Q, 1:58 — Michigan gets the ball back with two timeouts remaining. Tyler Morris fields the punt off the bounce and makes a play, returning it 26 yards to the Indiana 45-yard line.

• 2Q, 3:24 — Michigan drives 87 yards in 11 plays and finishes off the drive with a 2-yard touchdown pass from J.J. McCarthy to Roman Wilson on 4th and goal from the 2-yard line. Michigan leads 14-7 after the extra point.

• 2Q, 8:53 — Indiana fails to convert on third down. Michigan sophomore defensive tackle Kenneth Grant drops an interception after falling back in coverage. The Hoosiers punt and the Wolverines take over on their own 13-yard line.

• 2Q, 11:19 — Blake Corum rushes for a 1-yard touchdown to put Michigan on the board. It’s tied at 7-7. The Wolverines got a 15-yard pass from J.J. McCarthy to Cornelius Johnson and a forward pitch (technically a pass play) to Corum for 15 yards on the drive.

• End of the 1st quarter: Indiana 7, Michigan 0. The Wolverines have 1st and 10 their own 48-yard line, after picking up their first, first down of the game with less than a minute to go in the opening quarter (J.J. McCarthy to Colston Loveland along the sideline on 3rd and 10).

• 1Q, 2:17 — Indiana picks up a 3rd and 1 and scores a touchdown to open the scoring on the next play. Brendan Sorsby threw it to Donovan McCulley — a wide receiver who started at quarterback against Michigan in 2021 — who found Jaylin Lucas for a 44-yard touchdown. Keon Sabb got caught looking in the backfield on the trick play.

• 1Q, 5:21 — J.J. McCarthy took a sack on second down, and threw an incomplete pass over the middle, intended for Roman Wilson, on third down. Michigan goes three-and-out for the second time this afternoon. Indiana takes over on its own 23-yard line.

• 1Q, 6:35 — Indiana went on a long drive, taking advantage of Michigan’s soft coverage on the outside, and got all the way down to the Michigan 10-yard line. On third down from the 11 (after a negative play), Tayven Jackson’s pass was tipped by Mike Sainristil and intercepted by Rod Moore, his first pick of the season. He returned it to the U-M 41-yard line.

• 1Q, 12:19 — J.J. McCarthy takes a sack for a loss of 14 yards on third down. The Wolverines go three-and-out and punt to the Hoosiers, who begin on their own 23-yard line.

• 1Q, 13:51 — Michigan forces a three-and-out, and Indiana shanked the punt, which went just 28 yards. The Wolverines have it on their own 48-yard line.

• Michigan has won the toss and chosen to defer its choice to the second half. Indiana will receive to begin the game.
