Sherrone Moore updates Michigan football injury situation
Several Michigan players were banged up before or during last week’s game with Maryland, a 31-24 U-M victory. Left tackle LaDarius Henderson didn’t make the trip due to an undisclosed injury, though sources said it was more precautionary, while senior receiver Roman Wilson and graduate linebacker Michael Barrett were hurt during the game.

Stanford transfer Myles Hinton replaced Henderson, but he also went down during the game. Moore said after the game it was a knee injury, but tests showed no damage. Wilson took an apparent hit to the head on a first quarter reception and had his bell rung, while Barrett reported an A/C shoulder joint injury after the game. He returned and should be fine for Saturday.
“[Roman] should be good to go,” Moore said Monday, noting they all should. “We’ll see further … we’ll check with the doctors as we go as far as all three.”
With Henderson and Hinton both down, Moore moved Barnhart from right tackle to left and brought in veteran Trente Jones at right tackle. The line struggled in pass protection, and it has for a few weeks.
“Just in general, you’re going to have bad plays when you play against really good players,” Moore said. … “Forget it and drive on. If you don’t do that as a football player, it will hurt you regardless of position … you’ve to to make sure you push on forward, because that’s going to happen. Now you’ve got to refocus and get ready to go.”

Michigan junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy, too, was hobbling after the game with a lower body injury he initially suffered at Penn State. Moore provided some good news on him, as well.
“He’s feeling good,” he said. “I actually talked to him and yesterday he felt the best he’s felt. He’s just excited to get to work.”
Moore admitted to having much more on his plate as the interim head coach, from interviews to game day responsibility. The Michigan assistant said he’d likely lean on Harbaugh more this week in preparation for the biggest game of the year.
“He trusts us and has prepared us for these moments, so it will probably be more so me than him coming to me,” he said. “But I think our team. It’s all about the players, how they prepare this week, how they mentally attack it. I’m looking forward to it.”
