Sherrone Moore's offensive line coach at Oklahoma: New Michigan head man was 'an unbelievable kid'
James Patton and Sherrone Moore joined the Oklahoma football program at the same time, in the winter of 2006. Patton was the new offensive line coach for head man Bob Stoops, while Moore was a guard out of Butler Community College, where he was an all-conference selection. There were only a handful of offensive linemen healthy for spring practices that year, and Moore, now Michigan's head coach, was one of them. Patton — now the offensive line coach, associate head coach and run game coordinator at Miami (Ohio) — remembers the smile that lit up the room, but also the attributes that Moore possessed, which line up with what the coach is looking for in a lineman.
