Recruitment

A legacy recruit, Frazier was considered a Michigan lean for the majority of the recruiting cycle. He made things official and committed to the Wolverines in April. Frazier picked U-M over offers from Clemson, Florida State, Penn State, Texas, USC and others. Michigan offensive line coach Sherrone Moore served as his primary recruiter.

He Said It

“Coach (Sherrone) Moore obviously knows what he’s talking about. As an offensive lineman, it’s really hard to shy away from a school that has gone back-to-back in creating the best offensive line in the country. As far as wanting to go to the NFL, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of places better than Michigan right now.”

They Said It

“Frazier has seen his position change annually since beginning his time at Austin (Texas) Vandegrift as a tight end and long-snapper before eventually finding a fit at offensive tackle. After anchoring the right side of the Vipers’ line as a junior during a state championship run, Frazier made the transition to the left side in the offseason. After a third live evaluation of the Michigan-committed OT, it’s safe to say that Frazier is playing his best football as a senior. Frazier checks a lot of boxes in terms of frame (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) and length (6-foot-9 wing span, 9.75-inch hands). He also plays low and explodes off the ball. The On300 standout is light on his feet and anchors well, uses his length efficiently, and emphatically, on occasion. That was evident in the run game and also in pass pro, where he was excellent.” — National Analyst Sam Spiegelman

Scouting Report

“Blake Frazier is a guy we’ve seen continue to progress physically over the past year or so with a nice frame and a lot of room to continue adding weight. He has very good movement skills and it excites us to see how good he is at the shot put. The functional strength and power through his core projects well. He could play multiple positions along the offensive line — tackle, he can slide inside, and he’s one player whose best football is definitely ahead of him.” — On3 Rankings Director Charles Power
