Thirty-five former Michigan football players make initial 53-man NFL rosters
NFL teams were mandated to cut their rosters down to 53 men Tuesday by 4 p.m. ET. Thirty-five (35) former Michigan Wolverines football players have landed on rosters ahead of the season. Sixty (60) Wolverines participated in NFL training camps in some form or fashion, but 25 were cut along the way. They all have the opportunity to make practice squads (each team gets 16 practice-only players).
San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Maurice Hurst, New England Patriots offensive lineman Andrew Stueber and Patriots kicker Quinn Nordin didn’t make initial rosters due to injuries. Hurst tore his bicep and is on the reserve/injured list. Stueber (torn hamstring) and Nordin, meanwhile, have been placed on the reserve/non-football injury list.
Here’s a look at every former Michigan player who made a 53-man NFL roster.

Gary could always rush speed to power but now he’s mixing in more technique and fundamentals.
