Top 100 Forney (Texas) High running back Javian Osborne will be making a multi-day unofficial visit to Michigan in March, per his father.

Osborne is slated to arrive in Ann Arbor on March 28 and will stay on campus through March 30. This will give Osborne and his family a true in-depth look at the program on and off the field and an opportunity to see the staff work with the team at multiple practices.

Osborne named Michigan his leader in January but walked that statement back a bit, saying that the battle between U-M and Texas was ‘very close.’ However, Texas recently lost running backs coach Tashard Choice to the NFL’s Detroit Lions, which led to him canceling his official visit with the Longhorns.

On the flip side of the coin, Michigan head coach Sherrone More, running backs coach Tony Alford and others all visited with Osborne and his father during the winter contact period last month and made a strong impression.

“Everybody coming in shows how much love they have for me,” Osborne said. “When you have the GM and the head coach, that shows that I’m a top priority. It shows I’m wanted at Michigan. They let that be known — they want me to be a Michigan Wolverine. I enjoyed the great conversations. It felt good to see all of them there. I talk to Coach Alford every day. It was great seeing him come down. He wants to be my coach and share the knowledge he has.

“I already know what he brings to the table from the development side. But he does share new things about recruiting and what I should be looking for in a school. He does a good job of being honest. He’s strong about his opinion and what he believes in. It’s always great being around.”

Osborne visited Michigan three times last calendar year, including twice for games in the fall. Along with this multi-day spring visit, Osborne has already locked in his official visit with the Wolverines for June 20.

Osborne is also set to make official visits to Alabama, Georgia, SMU and Miami before making his final decision at some point in the summer.

At 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Osborne is ranked as the No. 6 running back and No. 77 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 10 overall recruit in the state of Texas for this cycle.
