Breaking down Michigan vs. Villanova Sweet 16 matchup with a Wildcats insider
Michigan Wolverines basketball and Villanova will face off in the Sweet 16 Thursday in San Antonio. The Maize and Blue beat No. 6 seed Colorado State and No. 3 seed Tennessee to make their fifth straight regional semifinal, while Villanova took care of business against No. 15 seed Delaware and No. 7 seed Ohio State en route to their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament's second weekend. Villanova has an elite offense that shoots the lights out of the ball and plays solid on the defensive end. The Wildcats are led by fifth-year senior point guard Collin Gillespie, a two-time Big East Player of the Year, his backcourt mate Justin Moore and a plethora of other versatile pieces who spread the floor. Head coach Jay Wright is one of the top tournament coaches in the game, and the Wildcats are favored by five points over the Maize and Blue.
