WATCH: Where does Michigan football's season go out of bye week?
The Michigan Wolverines are into their first bye week of the season sitting at 4-2 coming off a loss in the first road trip of the year at Washington. The team has plenty of things to sort out and clean up heading into the second half of the season, but now is the perfect time for a rest and a reset.
TheWolverine.com’s Anthony Broome, Chris Balas and Clayton Sayfie discuss where Michigan football’s season goes from here heading into the bye week, final thoughts on Washington, your questions and more.
“It was kind of amazing that they came back,” Sayfie said. “It did not look good early on. Of course, they had the quarterback change, but it felt like when you got up 17-14, the defense gets a stop, that’s when a Michigan team last year or the year before would have kind of taken over, right? This Michigan team doesn’t have that ability it appears yet, or right now, which is disappointing because it’s not a great Washington team. You do have to give them credit though for limiting penalties, finishing in the red zone better than they have and doing a better job on third down. Michigan’s third down defense continues to be an issue.”
“Jack Tuttle I think is the quarterback going forward. It seems fairly obvious to me, as long as he can stay healthy. And I think the bye week, now he has some experience. This season, he got back healthy enough to play. Now he has two weeks here until the next game. I think that bodes pretty well. You can build around him. It looked immediately different as soon as he got in the game. They started to run what looked like last year’s offense and but at the same time, the bar has been set so low at the quarterback spot that even what he did, which was impressive with the first three drives, three straight scoring drives for the first time this season.”

But then after that, they averaged 1.9 yards per play, 7.8 yards per drive in their last five possessions and the two turnovers, which were killer.”
