Where Michigan targets stand in updated 2024 On300 recruiting rankings
On3 released its updated On300 2024 recruiting rankings after evaluating mid-season junior film. Here is a look at where Michigan targets checked in on the list.
Quarterback
Michigan has made Top 100 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day signal-caller Jadyn Davis the top priority at the quarterback position next cycle. Davis has visited on multiple occasions and will be back on Oct. 29. He moved up seven spots from No. 75 to No. 68. Michigan hosted Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon quarterback Isaac Wilson for a visit over the weekend. He did not receive an offer but is on the radar. Wilson moved down from No. 90 to No. 126 in the update.
Running Back

Wide Receiver
Michigan is looking to take a big wide receiver class next year, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Five-star St. Louis (Mo.) University’s Ryan Wingo, who moved down from No. 14 to No. 32, is the highest rated of the bunch. Michigan is seeing him on the road today. Michigan has hosted several other high-profile pass catchers for visits, including Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan’s Jordan Anderson (up from not ranked to No. 166), St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers’ Jeremiah McClellan (down from No. 219 to No. 225) and Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day’s Bredell Richardson (down from No. 142 to No. 264). Michigan is also in the mix with guys like Kimberly (Idaho) High’s Gatlin Bair (up from unranked to No. 120) and Philadelphia (Pa.) Roman Catholic’s Tyseer Denmark (down from No. 46 to No. 145).
Tight End
Michigan always recruits the tight end position well, and next cycle will be no exceptions. The Wolverines are already squarely in the mix for a number of elite prospects and may have the lead for Rochester (Mich.) Adams’ Brady Prieskorn (up from No. 69 to No. 55). The Wolverines have also hosted prospects like Raymore-Peuliar (Mo.) High’s Jaden Reddell (up from unranked to No. 35) and Woodstock (Ill.) Marian Central Catholic’s Christian Bentancur (up from unranked to No. 195).
Offensive Line
As expected, Michigan is in play for several top prospects up front. The Wolverines appear to be the leaders for legacy recruit Blake Frazier. The Austin (Texas) Vandegrift prospect was one of the nation’s biggest risers, going from unranked to No. 158. Other On300 prospects Washington (D.C.) St. John’s Jordan Seaton (up from unranked to No. 19), Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea’s Isendre Ahfua (down from No. 86 to No. 95), Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst’s Andrew Sprague (down from No. 137 to No. 150) and Avon (Ohio) High’s Luke Hamilton (down from No. 123 to No. 227) have all visited.
Defensive Line
The only two defensive linemen Michigan appears to be heavily in the mix for in the updated rankings are Chicago (Ill.) St. Ignatius’ Justin Scott (down from No. 3 to No. 17) and Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga’s DD Holmes (down from No. 70 to No. 143). Scott is planning to visit soon, while Holmes is a teammate of 2023 Michigan offensive line commit Evan Link.

EDGE
Michigan seems to have the early lead with Austintown (Ohio) Fitch’s Brian Robinson (down from No. 170 to No. 178), who was back on campus over the weekend. Aside from Robinson, Michigan has hosted Buford (Ga.) High’s KingJoseph Edwards (down from No. 55 to No. 67) for a visit and is looking to get Washington (D.C.) Friendship’s Dylan Stewart (down from No. 4 to No. 6) and Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft’s Elias Rudolph (up from No. 162 to No. 22) on campus soon.
Linebacker
Michigan needs to land an elite linebacker target next cycle and is already making noise for several elite players. The highest rated of the bunch is Jefferson (Ga.) High’s Sammy Brown (up from No. 24 to No. 23), who visited in the offseason. Michigan has also received visits from Stafford (Va.) Mountain View’s Kris Jones (up from No. 153 to No. 111), Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy’s Edwin Spillman (down from No. 166 to No. 167) and Belleville (Mich.) High’s Jeremiah Beasley (up from No. 242 to No. 241). Olney (Md.) Good Counsel’s Aaron Chiles (down from No. 111 to No. 114) and Arden (N.C.) Christ School’s Cayden Jones (up from No. 206 to No. 148) are both looking to visit soon. Of course, Michigan already has one linebacker committed in Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth’s Mason Curtis, who moved up 20 spots from No. 164 to No. 144.
Defensive Back
Michigan has no defensive backs committed this cycle and needs to fill the void in 2024. The Wolverines have already hosted three Top 100 defensive backs for visits in Buford (Ga.) High’s KJ Bolden (up from No. 20 to No. 12), Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville’s Bryce West (down from No. 9 to No. 30) and Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview’s Charles Lester III (up from No. 64 to No. 56). Michigan has also received visits from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco’s Peyton Woodyard (down from No. 65 to No. 102), Warner Robins (Ga.) Northside’s Ricardo Jones (down from No. 33 to No. 119) and Miami (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna’s Zaquan Patterson (down from No. 93. to No. 259). The Wolverines may have the lead for legacy recruit Jacob Oden (down from No. 171 to No. 247), who has been on campus on several occasions.
Athlete
Michigan has received visits from two Top 100 athlete recruits in Belle Vernon (Pa.) Area’s Quinton Martin (down from No. 19 to No. 74) and Hiram (Ga.) High’s Walter Matthews (down from No. 43 to No. 81). Martin has been a star at running back this season but may play on the defensive side of the ball at the next level. Matthews best projects as a tight end.
