Wolverine TV: 1-on-1 with coach of Michigan EDGE commit Dominic Nichols
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland recently sat down with Ijamsville (Md.) Oakdale head coach Kurt Stein to get his thoughts on three-star 2024 Michigan EDGE commit Dominic Nichols.
Watch the Q&A in the video above.
Nichols Recruitment
Nichols committed to Michigan over offers from Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin and others in June.
The decision came soon after his official visit.
“It’s about development, really,” Nichols said. “I can go there, play outside and get developed how I need to be developed. Their EDGE production is insane”
Schools like Clemson, Florida State and Wisconsin have continued to recruit Nichols. However, he has remained solid to U-M.
“We’re all good there,” Nichols told The Wolverine earlier this fall. “(Dylan) Roney has been checking in every other day. (Mike) Elston and (Jesse) Minter call every week. I would say we’re good there. I feel comfortable with Michigan. I still think it’s the choice, and I’m going to stick with it. I have no other thoughts, really.”
Nichols is planning to graduate this month and enroll early at Michigan. He will join the team for Rose Bowl practices in Pasadena.
At 6-foot-5, 255 pounds, Nichols is ranked as the No. 42 EDGE and No. 450 overall prospect in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 15 overall recruit in the state of Maryland.
