Baxter Recruitment
Baxter committed to Michigan in June shortly following his official visit and has remained solid over the last few months.
The Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park product sided with the Wolverines over offers from Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and others.
“It was actually the commits that pushed me to commit,” Baxter said. “They have a great group of guys with a really strong bond. They talk to each other every day. They had that family feeling going. It was just a matter of me feeling them out. They told me they really wanted me and that we could be a national championship team.
“They have five offensive line commits. Why not compete against the best every day in practice? That will only help me become the best.”
Baxter is set to sign next week and will enroll at Michigan as a regular enrollee in June.
At 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, Baxter is ranked as the No. 27 EDGE and No. 233 overall prospect in the country, per On3. He is also ranked as the No. 5 overall recruit in the state of Maryland.
Michigan has 26 commits in its 2024 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 4 in the Big Ten and No. 16 nationally, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings. The class is highlighted by Top 100 Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller running back Jordan Marshall, Top 100 Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst offensive lineman Andrew Sprague and Top 100 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day quarterback Jadyn Davis.
