Wolverine TV: Breaking down every 2024 Michigan signee
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland broke down every 2024 Michigan signee on the Thursday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including On300 Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara EDGE Lugard Edokpayi, who committed on National Signing Day.
Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on Michigan recruiting above.
Edokpayi Recruitment
Michigan made Edokpayi its top overall target on the defensive side of the ball late in the cycle and was able to close with his commitment on National Signing Day.
Edokpayi picked Michigan over fellow finalists Maryland, Minnesota and Rutgers. He also held offers from the likes of Florida State and Texas A&M.
Here is what Holland had to say about the big recruiting win.
“This guy has tremendous length,” Holland said. “He looks like a college basketball player. At 215 pounds, he’s still really skinny. He has a thin lower and upper half. I’m really excited to see how much weight Ben Herbert adds to his frame. You probably won’t hear from him for a couple of years, but once he’s done in the strength and conditioning program and is ready to play, he has a chance to be an absolute monster at Michigan. Just a great late addition.”
At 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, Edokpayi is ranked as the No. 18 EDGE and No. 176 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 3 overall recruit in the state of Maryland this cycle.
