Wolverine TV: Breaking down five key recruits we saw on the road
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was on the road this week and saw several top targets, including Top 100 2026 Mineral (Va.) Louisa County running back Savion Hiter.

Hiter Recruitment
Michigan extended an offer to Hiter in the offseason, shortly following the arrival of new running backs coach Tony Alford.
Hiter and Alford have a strong bond and are connecting well on a personal level. Alford recruited Hiter dating back to his time at Ohio State.
Hiter made his first visit to Michigan in the spring, returned to Ann Arbor for the BBQ at The Big House and also attended the game against Michigan State in October. Hiter is now set to make his official visit to Michigan on June 13.
Here is what Holland had to say about his recruitment.
“Hiter has a great relationship with new running backs coach Tony Alford, who has made him a top priority” Holland said. “Alford recruited him as an underclassman at Ohio State, so there is already a connection there. Hiter visited Michigan in the offseason and returned for a game. Now, he’s set for an official visit. There is a lot to like about Savion Hiter. He’s a home run hitter. He is a guy who can run tough between the tackles, but he’s more of a true all-purpose back who can play all three downs. He can line up as a receiver. He can catch passes out of the back field. He’s actually really good in pass protection.”

Hiter is looking to make a decision after his official visits this summer.
Along with Michigan, Hiter has Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and Georgia in his Top 5.
At 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, Hiter is ranked as the No. 1 running back and No. 21 overall recruit in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Virginia for next cycle.
Georgia currently has the lead for Hiter on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 27.2 percent chance of landing him. Ohio State is in second place with an 18.0 percent chance of landing him. Michigan is in third place with a 15.4 percent chance of landing him.
Michigan has two commits in its 2026 recruiting class in On300 Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin cornerback Brody Jennings and three-star Dallas (Texas) Parish Episcopal wide receiver Jaylen Pile.
