Jennings Recruitment
Jennings notched an early offer from Michigan but didn’t become a priority for the Wolverines until the arrival of new secondary coach LaMar Morgan.
Morgan re-offered Jennings last June and was able to immediately get him on campus for the BBQ at The Big House the following month. It was there where Morgan was able to seal the deal and earn his commitment.
Here is what Holland had to say about Jennings.
“Michigan had some familiarity with Jennings since his older brother, Branden, was a former commit,” Holland said. “However, Morgan deserves a ton of credit here. Morgan offered him and made him a priority on the visit. He was able to seal the deal on the visit, which is impressive. Jennings is a long corner with a ton of upside. He really impressed as a junior after transferring to Mandarin, which plays top competition. His recruitment really took off last month, and Michigan will now have to fight to keep him in the fold.”
Jennings’ rankings bump comes after a strong junior season at Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin. Jennings transferred to the Florida powerhouse last offseason and proved to be one of the top defensive players in the Sunshine State.
Jennings is set to return to Michigan for an unofficial visit on March 22. He will also be in Ann Arbor for his official visit on June 20.
