Michigan scored a big recruiting win on National Signing Day as it landed four-star wide receiver Karmello English.

The Phenix City (Ala.) Central product sided with Michigan over fellow finalist Kentucky. English originally committed to Auburn but backed out of his verbal pledge.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland shares his thoughts on English and explains how the Wolverines were able to steal him from SEC country.

Michigan recruited English hard this fall, especially after Auburn parted ways with head coach Bryan Harsin. The Wolverines hosted English for an unofficial visit in October and sealed the deal this week.

At 5-foot-11, 182 pounds, English is ranked as the No. 25 wide receiver and No. 191 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Consensus. He is also ranked as the No. 15 overall prospect in the state of Alabama.

English has an On3 NIL Valuation of $18.6K with 24K combined followers on Instagram and Twitter. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
