Michigan landed a commitment from three-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive tackle Ben Roebuck on Wednesday afternoon, following his weekend unofficial visit.

The 6-foot-7, 340-pounder picked Michigan over offers from Kentucky, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia and others.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland shares his thoughts on Roebuck and what his commitment means for Michigan in the video below.

Roebuck’s decision comes after two unofficial visits to Michigan this month, including one over the weekend. Michigan offensive line coach Sherrone Moore pushed for Roebuck’s verbal pledge and was able to seal the deal.

At 6-foot-7, 340 pounds, Roebuck is ranked as the No. 40 offensive tackle and No. 594 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 20 overall recruit in the state of Ohio.

Roebuck is the ninth commit in Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class, which also features Top 100 Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller running back Jordan Marshall, On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, four-star Avon (Ohio) High offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, three-star Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier defensive lineman Ted Hammond, three-star Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall defensive lineman Manuel Beigel and three-star South Park (Pa.) High linebacker Zachary Ludwig.

Roebuck has an On3 NIL Valuation of $19.7K with 6K followers across all platforms. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
