Michigan scored a key win on the recruiting trail when three-star wide receiver Jamar Browder flipped his commitment from NC State to U-M.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland shares his thoughts on Browder in the video at the end of this story.

Browder Recruitment

A three-star prospect from Lake Worth (Fla.) Santaluces, Browder originally gave NC State a commitment in June.

However, Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy wanted to add more size to the room and extended an offer to Browder early in the fall. Bellamy made Browder a top priority and quickly got him on campus in September.

Browder returned to Michigan for another visit last weekend. It was there where Bellamy was able to seal the deal and flip him away from the Wolfpack.

Here is what Holland had to say about the recruitment.

“Browder is a big-bodied wide receiver at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds,” Holland said. “He can go up and get it and is a physical presence as a true outside receiver. He is still raw and will need to be developed. However, he is more filled out than fellow commit Jacob Washington and has plenty of upside. He’s graded as a three-star prospect across the board but has a chance to outplay his rankings. Michigan definitely needed more size in its wide receiver room, and Browder can provide that.”

At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, Browder is ranked as the No. 113 wide receiver and No. 714 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 89 overall recruit in the state of Florida this cycle.
