Holly Recruitment
Michigan extended an offer to Holly during the spring evaluation period. However, he already had a preexisting relationship with new U-M defensive line coach Lou Esposito.
Esposito was in contact with Holly during his short time at Memphis, and the two continued to grow their bond over the last several months. Esposito and Holly also happen to be New Jersey natives, which helped them build their connection.
While Holly did make official visits to Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, he felt comfortable with Esposito and Michigan and gave the Wolverines a verbal pledge.
“(Esposito) has known me since he was at Memphis, so he already knew a little bit about me,” Holly said. “He recently started recruiting me a lot. He’s really cool. I grew up in Jersey, and he’s from there, so we have some common ground there. As a coach, he seems grounded and leveled. He knows what he’s doing.”
