The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the recruitment of On300 Olney (Md.) Good Counsel linebacker Aaron Chiles.
Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on U-M recruiting below.
Chiles visited Michigan this winter and is trending towards the Wolverines on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. In fact, the Wolverines have a 93.6 percent chance of landing the talented linebacker recruit.
Here is what Holland said when asked if Michigan would close with Chiles
“Yes, I do think Michigan lands Aaron Chiles,” Holland said. “I’ve had a prediction in since February. I’ve felt very confident in that prediction over the last couple of months, heading into official visit season here in the summer. I think Michigan will a really strong chance to close with Aaron… I think he’s a five-star level prospect and fits everything Michigan wants at the linebacker position. Think Junior Colson. He’s that type of player.”
At 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Chiles is ranked as the No. 8 linebacker and No. 104 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 2 overall recruit in the state of Maryland.

The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
