The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the recruitment of three-star Ponte Vedra (Fla.) High offensive lineman Jake Guarnera.

Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on U-M recruiting below.

Guarnera recently released a final five of Michigan, Florida, Penn State, Rutgers and NC State. He is slated to make his announcement on April 28 at 5 p.m. ET.

Michigan has an 89.3 percent chance of landing Guarnera, according to the On3 Prediction Machine. Here is what Holland had to say about the recruitment.

“I think Jake Guarnera could be the next guy for that offensive line group,” Holland said. “Like I said earlier, Guarnera wasn’t planning to commit this early. He had an official visit set with Florida. I don’t think that will happen. With Michigan taking one true center, I think he wants to lock up his spot. That’s why you saw him set a commitment date, so I feel really good about my prediction.”

At 6-foot-4, 283 pounds, Guarnera is ranked as the No. 37 interior offensive lineman and No. 514 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 68 overall recruit in the state of Florida.

Chiles has an On3 NIL Valuation of $24K with 3.3K followers across all platforms. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Michigan has 12 commits in its 2024 recruiting class — Top 100 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day quarterback Jadyn Davis, Top 100 Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller running back Jordan Marshall, On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, On300 Austin (Texas) Vandegrift offensive tackle Blake Frazier, On300 Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst offensive tackle Andrew Sprague, four-star Avon (Ohio) High offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, three-star Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier defensive lineman Ted Hammond, three-star Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall defensive lineman Manuel Beigel, three-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive lineman Ben Roebuck and three-star South Park (Pa.) High linebacker Zach Ludwig.

The class is currently ranked No. 6 nationally in the On3 industry rankings and No. 2 in the Big Ten behind Ohio State.
