The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the latest on Top 100 2024 wide receiver Gatlin Bair.

Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on Michigan recruiting above.

Bair Recruitment

Bair made an official visit to Michigan over the summer but opted to stay closer to home and committed to Boise State in August.

However, Boise State recently parted ways with head coach Andy Avalos, leaving Bair’s commitment status in question. Bair has now made unofficial visits to both Oregon and Michigan over the last two weeks.

Those around the Michigan program are optimistic following his experience in Ann Arbor for The Game on Saturday.

Here is what Holland had to say about the situation.

“I thought the visit went really well,” Holland said. “He arrive early on Saturday and didn’t leave until late on Sunday. I think his commitment to Boise State is on thin ice right now with the Broncos having a coaching change. I think this recruitment is ultimately going to come down to Michigan and Oregon. I would give Michigan the slight edge right now, but I do know that he is a little concerned about the situation going on in Ann Arbor. He might not make a decision until the February signing period, so still a few months away.”

At 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, Bair is ranked as the No. 10 wide receiver and No. 41 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of Idaho.
