The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the latest on Top 100 2025 Columbus (Ohio) Franklin cornerback Dawayne Galloway.

Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on Michigan recruiting above.

Galloway Recruitment

Michigan missed on a pair of Top 100 cornerbacks in the state of Ohio this cycle in Aaron Scott and Bryce West. Both picked Ohio State over U-M following their summer official visits.

However, Michigan cornerbacks coach and area recruiter Steve Clinkscale is continuing to work on elite talent in enemy territory and is making Galloway a top priority for next cycle.

Here is what Holland had to say about his recruitment.

“Ohio State hasn’t offered Dawayne Galloway, so I think Michigan is in a great spot right now,” Holland said. “Steve Clinkscale isn’t going to shy away from recruiting the state of Ohio just because he lost out on Aaron Scott and Bryce West. He still has strong connections there. He has made Galloway an early priority. Galloway has exploded on the recruiting trail, but he visited for the game against Purdue, and the Wolverines hold the edge on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 43.0 percent chance of landing him.”

Along with Michigan, Galloway holds offers from Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.

At 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Galloway is ranked as the No. 11 cornerback and No. 98 overall prospect nationally, per On3. He is also ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Ohio for next cycle.

Michigan has three verbal commitments in its 2025 recruiting class in Top 100 Miami (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna defensive back Chris Ewald, On300 Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith and four-star Howell (Mich.) High defensive lineman Bobby Kanka. The class is ranked No. 10 nationally, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings.
