The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the latest on five-star 2025 Belleville (Mich.) High quarterback Bryce Underwood.

Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on Michigan recruiting above.

Underwood Recruitment

Underwood released a top schools list of Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Oregon and Penn State earlier this month.

This recruitment has long been considered an LSU-Michigan recruiting battle. Michigan has hosted Underwood for more visits than any other program, while LSU made a strong impression on his unofficial visit to Baton Rouge last month.

LSU currently leads on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 92.2 percent chance of landing him, but Michigan is expecting him in for the game against Ohio State this weekend.

Here is what Holland had to say about the situation.

“Underwood has been on campus a ton,” Holland said. “I’m not sure what else he can see at Michigan. I think this visit will more so be him watching the game, hanging out with some of the 2024 commits, hanging out with a lot of the 2025 targets and seeing what Michigan does in the passing game — actually seeing the offense in person from a stadium view instead of on TV… But I did put in a prediction for LSU, and I feel like Michigan has a mountain to climb. I think those around the program know that as well.”

At 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, Underwood is ranked as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 1 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
