TheWolverine.com’s EJ Holland reacts to the second Michigan commitment of the day, consensus four-star linebacker Semaj Bridgeman, in a new episode of our recruiting podcast. Bridgeman is the No. 26 linebacker and No. 319 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 consensus.

Michigan LB commit Semaj Bridgeman
Holland: “He just fell in love with the city, the campus, the coaching staff, just the overall atmosphere around Michigan. Rutgers hosted him for his last OV, but Michigan was able to hold off its Big Ten bunkmate and earn this verbal pledge. […] He’s a big, athletic backer at six-foot-one, 235 pounds. When you see that weight, you think maybe this guy is just a traditional middle linebacker that’s not very athletic. He actually has pretty adequate speed. He has good length for only being six-foot-one. Normally, I’m never really concerned with height for traditional backers.”
On Bridgeman transferring schools
Holland: “How he looks as a senior will really determine my opinion of him as a prospect and should really determine your opinion of him as a prospect — the way he fares against other high-profile teams that he’s playing against should tell us a lot about what we should expect once he arrives at Michigan. Overall, not concerned too about the transfers, more so excited.”
