Hart Recruitment

Michigan secondary coach Lamar Morgan dished out an offer to Hart in June and was able to get him on campus the following month for the annual BBQ at The Big House.

Hart returned to Michigan this fall for the game against USC in September and is now set to make his summer official visit on June 20.

While it’s still early, Michigan is a strong contender in the race for Hart, who is a top priority on the cornerback board for this cycle.

Here is what Holland had to say about Hart.

“Hart was one of the biggest rankings risers in the latest On3 update for the 2026 recruiting class,” Holland said. “He’s a long, athletic corner with room to add some weight to his frame. I really like him as a true outside corner, but he’s such a fun, athletic player, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him play some nickel as well. Michigan is a top contender early in this race. The Wolverines have already had him on campus twice. LaMar Morgan has been doing a great job of building a relationship with Hart, and head coach Sherrone Moore has been personally involved as well.”

Hart recently named a Top 6 of Michigan, Indiana, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Virginia. He is looking to make a decision at some point in the summer.

At 6-foot, 170 pounds, Hart is ranked as the No. 22 cornerback and No. 290 overall prospect nationally, per On3. He is also ranked as the No. 8 overall recruit in the state of Virginia for this cycle.

Penn State has the lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with an 85.8 percent chance of landing him. Michigan is in third place with a 3.3 percent chance of landing him.

Michigan has two verbal commits in its 2026 recruiting class — On300 Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin cornerback Brody Jennings and three-star Dallas (Texas) Parish Episcopal wide receiver Jaylen Pile.

Michigan has the No. 56 ranked 2026 recruiting class nationally, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings. Michigan is currently ranked No. 14 in the Big Ten. Oregon currently has the top class in the conference.
