Michigan is working on a handful of recruits in its own backyard next cycle.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland breaks down the five in-state recruits that Michigan fans need to know in the 2025 recruiting class in the video above.

The race for Underwood

The highest ranked of the bunch is five-star Belleville (Mich.) High quarterback Bryce Underwood, who made an unofficial visit to Michigan for the Big at The Big House late last month.

Here is what Holland had to say about Underwood.

“Underwood is the obvious big fish not just in the state of Michigan but overall,” Holland said. “He is the top of the top on Michigan’s recruiting board in the 2025 class. Michigan needs to land an elite quarterback, and Bryce Underwood is definitely that guy. I think Jadyn Davis is a very good prospect that can manage the offense, move the chains and have plenty of success in Ann Arbor. But Bryce Underwood is a special talent.”

At 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, Underwood is ranked as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 1 overall prospect in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
