Wolverine TV: Five Michigan targets who rose in new On3 recruiting rankings

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland breaks down five Michigan recruits who rose in On3’s updated recruiting rankings for the 2026 class, including On300 Galena Park (Texas) North Shore defensive back Chace Calicut.

Calicut Recruitment
Michigan extended an offer to Calicut in December and has quickly ascended as a major player in his recruitment.
The Wolverines hosted Calicut for his first visit this spring and are set to get him back on campus for an official visit on June 20.
Texas has been considered the leader for Calicut for the majority of the recruiting cycle. However, Michigan is now right up there with Texas going into the meat of his recruitment.
Here is what Holland had to say about Calicut.
“I blasted On3 for dropping Calicut out of the On300 back in February,” Holland said. “Now, Calicut is back at No. 231 overall. I never got the drop for Calicut. He plays at a premier high school in the state of Texas and shines against top competition on the field. He’s also been fantastic on the club 7v7 circuit this offseason. When you look at his athletic profile, Calicut certainly checks the boxes. He’s all of 6-foot-3, 190 pounds and can be that tall, long safety that Michigan needs this cycle.
“Calicut has also impressed at corner this offseason, outshining 7v7 teammate and Michigan corner commit Brody Jennings. There is a lot to like about Calicut all the way around. I think he can be a Top 100 recruit by the time the cycle comes to an end.”
