Porter Recruitment

Michigan is looking for a big-bodied wide receiver this cycle and is making Porter a top priority. Both U-M wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy and area recruiter Grant Newsome have been in constant communication and have the Wolverines in the mix here.

Porter made his first-ever visit to Michigan over the summer when he attended the annual BBQ at The Big House in late July. Porter got an in-depth look at the program and facilities and also had a chance to work out with Bellamy.

Porter returned to Michigan for his second unofficial visit this spring and enjoyed his time on campus. Here are Holland’s thoughts on his recruitment:

“Quincy is such a dynamic player and really unlike anybody on Michigan’s roster right now,” Holland said. “If he ends up signing with Michigan, I think he could come in and potentially start as a true freshman. Michigan is making him a major priority this cycle. It’s no surprise he’s ranked as the No. 48 overall recruit in the country. I have said it for about a year now. I think Michigan is right up there with Ohio State and Penn State and some southern schools like Florida State, Florida and Oklahoma. He is playing things really close to the vest.”
