Three-star Michigan defensive line commit Manuel Beigel recorded two tackles and several quarterback hurries in Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall’s 44-14 blowout win over Deerfield (Mass.) Academy on Saturday afternoon.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was onsite and captured exclusive clips from the contest. Watch highlights of Beigel in the video above.

Beigel Recruitment

Beigel committed to Michigan in July of last year following an unofficial visit and has remained solid throughout the entire recruiting process.

He sided with the Wolverines over offers from Central Michigan, Georgia, Penn State and Texas A&M. So what’s kept Beigel so locked in?

“First of all, it’s the development side,” Beigel said. “They are known for developing. The coaches are great. I obviously need development since I haven’t played for that long. I trust that the coaches at Michigan can get me where I want to be.”

Beigel, who is originally from Germany, began his athletic career playing soccer before transitioning to football. He moved to the United States last fall and played exclusively along the offensive line. Beigel began playing along the defensive line this season.

Beigel will sign with Michigan in December and enroll in June.

At 6-foot-5, 282 pounds, Beigel is ranked as the No. 837 overall prospect in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 6 overall recruit in the state of Connecticut.
