Top 100 2025 Michigan EDGE target Ari Watford recorded several tackles and blocked a punt en route to leading Norfolk (Va.) Maury to a blowout 68-8 win over Portsmouth (Va.) Norcom.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was onsite and captured exclusive clips from the contest. Watch highlights of Watford in the video above.

Watford Recruitment

Watford notched an offer from Michigan in February of last year and is planning to make his first visit at some point in the near future.

Michigan staffer Dylan Roney, who works closely with U-M’s pass rushers, is leading the way in his recruitment and making a strong impression early on. The Wolverines’ recent EDGE production is also moving the needle.

“Of course, I love their defense,” Watford said. “You’ve seen guys go to the league from Michigan like David Ojabo and Aidan Hutchinson. There are plenty of other guys that have gone to the league, too. That’s what really stands out to me.”

Along with Michigan, Watford holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas, USC and several other major programs.

Virginia Tech currently has the lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 29.1 percent chance of landing him. Virginia is in second place with a 17.3 percent chance of landing him.
