Rising 2025 Michigan defensive back target Jahmari DeLoatch recorded three tackles and allowed just one reception in Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith’s 27-21 win over Chesapeake (Va.) Indian River over the weekend.
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was onsite and captured exclusive clips from the contest. Watch highlights of DeLoatch in the video above.
DeLoatch Recruitment
A three-star prospect, DeLoatch notched an offer from Michigan in May and has quickly become a priority on the defensive back board for next cycle.
DeLoatch made his first visit to Michigan in late July for the annual BBQ at The Big House event. And it’s safe to say Michigan made a strong impression on the versatile athlete.
“The visit was fun,” DeLoatch said. “Everybody welcomed me. It was nothing but positive vibes. I enjoyed it a lot. I really liked the coaches. They were very energetic. I liked the way they coached me. I also liked the weight room coach (Ben Herbert). The staff inviting me in and making me feel welcomed was the biggest highlight.”
Michigan sees DeLoatch as the perfect fit in the Mike Sainristil role. The versatile prospect can play multiple positions on the back end and ran the fastest indoor 200m time in the state of Virginia as a sophomore.
DeLoatch is planning to make his way back to Michigan before the end of the season.
Michigan has the lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 79.3 percent chance of landing him.
