Wolverine TV: Luke Hamilton talks commitment to Michigan, Sherrone Moore, recruiting Ohio athletes
The Wolverine drove down to Avon, Ohio, on Tuesday to meet with 2024 Michigan interior offensive lineman commit Luke Hamilton, who’s training with his high school football team inside a local performance center this winter. Three months off his verbal commitment following the Ohio State win last November, Hamilton remains locked in to the two-time reigning Big Ten Champions.
“The process did take a toll towards the end with it kind of getting overwhelming,” Hamilton said. “So to be able to commit to that high of a school and for them to take my commitment was just a relief. I’ve felt better ever since and we’ll keep it going. I’m going to Michigan so it feels good.”
Hamilton became the third pledge for Michigan in its 2024 recruiting class and is now the second Ohio native to make up the seven-man group. He was last in Ann Arbor back in the month of January for Michigan’s Junior Day event and is planning on returning more than once after the dead period concludes to take in spring camp practice.
“The Joe Moore Awards, back-to-back,” Hamilton said. “I mean, that’s just unheard of. To be able to commit to a school that’s doing that and be developed from a coach like Coach (Sherrone) Moore feels great.”

At 6-4.5, 307 pounds, Hamilton is ranked as the No. 320 overall recruit in the country, No. 24 interior offensive lineman, and No. 11 rising junior in the state of Ohio, according to the On3 Consensus.

Hamilton has an On3 NIL Valuation of $46K with 3.6K followers across Twitter and Instagram. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Rounding out the seven commits in Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class are On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, three-star Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier defensive lineman Ted Hammond, three-star Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall defensive lineman Manuel Beigel and three-star South Park (Pa.) High linebacker Zach Ludwig.
The class is currently ranked No. 13 nationally in the On3 Consensus Rankings and No. 3 in the Big Ten behind Ohio State and Michigan State.
